Free MIMOSA expert search in ESPACE EP database

From 14.00 hrs on Wednesday, 7 May 2008, patent information searchers are able to access four weeks of EP-A and EP-B full-text documents with MIMOSA software, free of charge.

This service is now open to the public for testing. Simply register your e-mail address and you will receive instructions on how to access the free MIMOSA search engine.

The ground-breaking opportunity to test the MIMOSA search engine is in line with the EPO's new "barrier-free" patent information policy. The policy was put in place in 2007 and aims at providing more complete public access to the information contained in patent documents, as well as ensuring that people are able to use that information effectively. Better access to patent data is essential for the growth of industry in Europe, especially for scientists, engineers, universities and research centres. With MIMOSA retrieval software, users have access to all the benefits of a powerful search tool and can customise display, printing and downloading according to their own needs.
