Salary Survey in KPO Industries in India

According to Evalueserve, the Indian KPO sector will account for 71 percent of global KPO revenues by FY 2010. The global KPO market will grow by 45 percent per annum, from USD 1.29 billion in FY 2003 to USD 17 billion by FY 2010. This high growth in the KPO sector presents a huge opportunity for India in terms of employment generation and wealth creation, which will result in an increase in the number of jobs, from 25,000 in 2003 to 2, 50,000 by 2010. The average annual salary in the Indian KPO sector is currently around USD 8,800 per annum

According to some estimates, in the next 5 years India will employee more than 2.5 lac people and will capture approximately 70% of the global KPO business.

In an article on "KPO salaries: Some case studies in growth" published on Hindustan Times, August 02, 2007. As per the article the average salary in KPO firms for fresher engineer is 4.2 lakhs and within 4 -5 years they reaches upto Rs.10 - 20 lakhs annually, plus managing a group of 40-45 members and visited client sites abroad 2-5 times a year.

According to another article "Sky High Salaries in KPOs", High salary jobs are being offered to the graduates (MBA's, CA's, law graduates etc.) with a starting package of 4.2 to 4.8 lacs per annum. And depending on the complexity of the work and processes and the organization (Exevo, Evalueserve or Pipal Research), the package can go upto 6 lacs per anum. Salaries in Indian KPO are 25%-50% higher than in other KPOs around the world.
